Access to clean, arctic water at the perfect temperature all year round gives us optimal breeding conditions for Spotted Wolffish.
The world's only facility for Spotted Wolffish, a 100% land-based production, is located in Meløy municipality on the idyllic coast of Helgeland. The land-based facility allows the team to have full focus on fish health and water quality at all times.
The facility
The facility houses the complete life cycle from roe to finished product. The production is based on a substantial amount of cold and fresh water with a minimal environmental impact. The clear and clean Arctic seawater is crucial for the health and well-being of the Spotted Wolffish. Therefore, we collect it from 60 m deep, at the far end of a fjord system with ice-cold water from Norway's second largest glacier, Svartisen. This gives us the perfect water temperature in the facility all year round.
In Aminor's closed facility, the fish are protected from disease and all hazards are excluded. Through strict control, we provide the fish with the very best living conditions without compromising the environment.
The Spotted Wolffish is a priority investment in Norwegian aquaculture and we will continue our work to secure our position as a leading contributor in farming and production.
